Terms of Service
Welcome to Otera. We provide the services and products available on our website to you subject to the terms and conditions below. By placing an order on Otera website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1. Order Confirmation
Your order placed with Otera is only complete after full payment and upon the issuance of a confirmation email by us. Please contact us if you have not received the confirmation email.
2. Self pick-up
Please present your confirmation email (soft/ hard copy) to pick up your order. Customers who chose to pick up their orders at Otera’s workshop should arrive between 12nn – 7pm as confirmed by Otera in the confirmation email.
3. Delivery Service
We do not offer any delivery service to Island District, Park Island, Tung Chung, Discovery Bay or any rural villages.
Please ensure there is someone to receive the order at the specified location (as confirmed by Otera in the confirmation email) on the selected delivery date and timeslot.
4. Non-refundable
All confirmed orders are non-refundable.
5. Bad weather
On days where black rainstorm warning signal and/or typhoon signal no. 8 is hoisted during the scheduled delivery time, the delivery shall be automatically canceled and rescheduled to a date not later than 1 month after the original delivery date, to be mutually agreed between the parties and confirmed by email. In such cases, an email will be sent to request a rescheduled date within 48 hours after Typhoon signal no. 8 or black rainstorm is suspended.
We will notify you by email in such cases. Please check your email messages frequently to ensure clear communications about order(s).
5.1 Self pick-up and delivery service will be available Amber, Red Rainstorm and/or Typhoon no. 3 signal(s) is hoisted.
6. Forfeiture
In cases where you are not able to pick up your order at Otera’s workshop at the specified location or timeslot, you shall be treated as having forfeited your order without further notice. In that event, no compensation, refund or replacement in respect of the order shall be provided by Otera.
In that event, Otera reserves the right to forfeit the order without compensation, refund or replacement.
7. Ingredients
(a) Otera will list out the main ingredients used under “Product description” in respective pages dedicated to the cakes. While the “Product description” includes key ingredients, it is not an exhaustive list. Please email if you are unsure about the ingredients.
(b) The “Product description” is provided for your information only. In cases where ingredients on the list are not reasonably available, Otera shall change and/or replace the ingredient as it considers appropriate in the circumstances.
(c) Product images are for illustrative purposes only and may differ from the actual product. Colours of products may also appear different to those shown on the site.
8. No representation
Otera’s product may contain allergens or food substances that may be unsafe to consume for any medical conditions (including but not limited to food allergies, pregnancy, diabetes, high blood pressure etc.). Customers are solely responsible for independently assessing whether Otera’s products are suitable for the individual’s use and consumption.
9. Legal interpretation
Should there be any inconsistency or discrepancy between the Chinese ( when available ) and English versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
10. Hong Kong Law
These terms and conditions shall be construed by and interpreted in accordance with Hong Kong law.
Otera reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions from time to time.
